Emraan Hashmi’s 90-day night shift

(Masala.com)

He's certainly paying the price of stardom these days and Emraan Hashmi is leaving no stone unturned to make sure he gives his best for all his films. He's currently working on three films - ‘Ghanchakkar', ‘Unglee' and Vishal Bhardwaj's next - and all three required him to only shoot at night! So you have poor Emraan just having completed a 90-day night shift.

Now it is definitely time to take a break from these gruelling night shoots, which didn't come without Emraan paying a price. Not only did he develop a painful throat after screaming from atop a railway station for ‘Ghanchakkar', he also developed an aversion to sunlight! When he finally got a day off, facing the sunlight was a painful experience. He stayed home all day, since he couldn't handle the daytime brightness. Moreover, the doctor had to put him on heavy medication for a painful throat which resulted in him being unwell.

Emraan says, "I almost felt like a vampire shooting non-stop night shifts for over two-and-a-half months. But I'm determined to stick to the schedules of these films and complete them."

Stardom definitely comes with pitfalls. So focused is EK on work that he hasn't had much time to interact with wife Parveen or his little son. For coming home in the daytime only meant sleeping throughout!
